I've used 1Password since 2012, but have decided to switch because of the changes to 1Password 8. I prefer to store my vault locally and I also refuse to pay $36/year. I looked for an alternative to 1Password 7 and determined that Enpass is closest. The desktop version of Enpass is free but requires a license for mobile devices. However, I bought a lifetime license at stacksocial.com for only $30 and Enpass is working great on my Mac and my iPhone. The biggest downsides are: Enpass is not as pretty as 1Password. It's also slightly less smart about updating passwords for existing logins. Also, it's a little trickier to access newly generated passwords; I don't believe they are automatically copied to the clipboard. But overall, if you are looking for an alternative to 1Password, Enpass is a good choice.

Version: 6.9.3
Current version is 6.11.10. On the website, it's written "Requirements: macOS 13 (Ventura) or later" but it's still working ok in 10.14! 🤔

Current version is 6.11.8. If I'm not mistaking, many features from the Business version have become public since 6.11.0! Now you have templates for many known websites such as Facebook, Amazon, etc. 2FA and even P****keys management! And always free for the desktop version. 😲

Since 1password announced their browser and menubar extensions will stop working in July I migrated to Enpass 'Lifetime' license (been a 1Password user since 2009). So far so good.

Back to trying Enpass — although I'm still using 1Password v6 as my main pw manager. I'm a desktop only user, so I can't talk about sharing, cloud and the like. The mandatory thing for me is saving my pw database locally without having to create an account somewhere. The current version allows me that (former versions used to ask every time about creating an account...) The interface is near enough to what I'm used to in old 1P; the import is now perfect. The only downside I can tell is about Secured Notes (rtf): there's no QuickLook, you have to export them to view them! Another thing: I may be "old school", but I haven't found a pdf User Guide! :-o But hey, it's free for Desktops! Meaning that for my use case, it could easily replace 1Password, and for free! :-) For the time being, I use it in browsers where 1P v6 is not supported (Safari 14 and Brave).
